about quin o.

“As a therapist who has experienced complex loss in her life, I understand the deep importance of every person’s individual and relational grief experiences. I help families identify their varying grief journeys and create space for everyone to feel heard and validated. My clients often carry heavy burdens, but through our work together, they are able to patiently transition through a difficult time towards healing, lightness, gratitude, and peace.

Not all of my clients who are working through grief have experienced the death of a loved one or another ‘typical’ loss. Many of them are grieving more abstract losses such as the loss of a relationship, grieving a life imagined, or saying goodbye to a long-held hope for a loved one. These losses may feel too inconsequential to initially label as a loss, but the emotional landscape that surrounds them is synonymous with that of profound loss.

Many people respond to grief by isolating from loved ones as vulnerability in relationships can feel invalidating and lonely after experiencing loss. In addition to helping my clients work through these feelings, my clients also develop the tools they need to feel empowered to tackle the ongoing impacts of grief, heightened anxiety, times of self-doubt and low self-worth, and peacefully navigating life’s transitions.

In addition to grief work, I specialize in helping couples and families who feel they aren’t speaking the same language find more meaningful connection. I enjoy assisting my clients through difficult or taboo topics as I help each individual voice their personal values. Building meaningful connections with my clients and offering them an experience of feeling seen, heard, and understood an important part of my work.

I began my career by receiving a bachelor’s degree in Psychology as well as a minor in Ancient Mediterranean Studies from the University of Missouri in Columbia.  Following this I was trained in using ABA therapy with young children. While ABA taught me patience, I felt it was missing the component of whole family engagement. This led me to pursue an education in relational therapy. I am currently working toward a master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from Adler University, as well as an additional certification in Sex Therapy.

I greatly value taking meaningful time for myself and slowing down. When I am not with clients or studying, I love to read, spend time out in the sun, catch up with friends and family, or play with my cat, Teddy (my birthday twin). "

My heart is in helping children and families make times of loss an opportunity for deeper connection.
